South Delhi

South Delhi is a district in the Union Territory of Delhi in India. The district is bounded in the north by New Delhi District and East Delhi District, in the East by Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, in the south by Haryana, and in the west by South West Delhi.

There are three tahsils in the district namely Defence Colony tahsil, Kalkaji tahsil, and Hauz Khas tahsil.

The total area of the district is 247 sq km. The population as per census 2011 is 2,731,929. There are 2 statutory towns, and 23 census towns in the district. The number of villages in the district is only 3.

The headquarters of the district is also the headquarters of the Defence Colony tahsil which is located in Hauz Khas tahsil.
